Pay in Store
A payment method that only appears on orders being collected in person.
A shopper collecting their order in person shouldn't have to pay online first and again at the counter if something goes wrong. This module adds an offline payment method that appears only on collect-in-store orders and stays completely invisible on delivery orders, matched by shipping carrier code so it works with or without Nextbyte Click & Collect.
Features
- Shows up only on collect-in-store orders, invisible on delivery orders
- Works with Nextbyte Click & Collect or any pickup shipping method, matched by carrier code
- Fully renameable title and customer-facing instructions
- No gateway involved, orders place pending just like Magento's own offline methods
One-time payment for the term you choose, covering updates & support for that long. It doesn't auto-renew; renew any time from your dashboard.

More about Pay in Store
The problem
When a shopper picks "collect in store" instead of home delivery, showing them a full page of online payment methods, credit card, PayPal, and the rest, is backwards: they are about to hand over cash or a card at the counter anyway. Most stores end up either forcing an online payment they did not need, or manually hiding payment methods per shipping rule with a general purpose extension not built for this case.
How it works
Nextbyte Pay in Store is a plain offline payment method that runs one simple check before it ever shows up: is the shipping method on this order a collect in store type, identified by its carrier code. If not, the method is invisible, exactly as if the module were not installed at all. There is no configuration flag pointing at another module and no hard dependency on Nextbyte Click & Collect either, any shipping method registered under a matching carrier code makes it eligible.
What the store owner sees
In admin, it behaves like any other offline payment method: a title you can rename to fit your brand voice, an Enabled switch, a sort order, and an instructions field shown to the shopper once they select it. Orders placed against it sit in a normal pending state until someone on the till marks them paid and invoices them, the same manual flow used for any offline method already.
What the shopper sees
At checkout, the method only appears once a pickup style shipping method is selected, with whatever title and instructions the store configured, for example "Pay at the counter when you collect it." No card form, no redirect, just a place order button, because payment happens in person.
Configuration
Where to find it in the Magento admin
Every setting for this module lives in one place: Stores > Configuration > Sales > Payment Methods > Nextbyte Pay in Store.
| Field | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Enabled | The master switch. Even when on, the method still only ever appears on a pickup style order, it never appears on a delivery order regardless of this setting |
| Title | The name shoppers see at checkout. Change it to match how your store talks about pickup, such as Pay at Pickup or Pay in Branch |
| Sort Order | Where this method appears relative to your other payment options |
| Instructions | Text shown to the shopper once they select this method, for example a reminder to bring ID or a note about accepted payment types at the counter |
There is no separate admin grid or console for this module. Marking an order paid and invoicing it once payment is collected at the counter uses the same order view every other offline payment method in Magento uses.
