The problem

When something changes in a Magento store, "who did this and when" is usually a question nobody can actually answer. Magento's built-in change logging is thin, most admin-log extensions only watch the admin panel, and the moment a price gets changed by an ERP integration, a developer running a CLI command, or an overnight cron job, that history is simply gone.

How it sees everything

This module hooks Magento's generic model events rather than admin controllers, so a save is recorded the same way no matter where it came from: the admin panel, a REST or GraphQL call, bin/magento, or cron. The source of every change is resolved and shown as its own column you can filter on, so "was this a human or a script" stops being a guess.

Field-level diffs, not snapshots

Most implementations in this category store a full serialized snapshot of the entity on every save, which makes the log unreadable, unsearchable by field, and large regardless of whether one attribute changed or forty did. This module diffs at save time instead, so every entry shows exactly which fields moved and what they were before. That is also what makes rollback safe: it touches only the fields that entry changed, rather than reverting a whole snapshot and quietly undoing everyone else's edits made since.

Keeping the log itself honest

An audit log that copies passwords and API keys into a searchable, exportable table becomes the most attractive thing in the database. Fields that look like secrets are still logged as changed, so the history stays complete, but their actual values are redacted, and a rollback says plainly when it could not restore a redacted field rather than pretending it did.

What you get day to day

The result is a store where "who changed this, and can we undo it" has a real answer: a searchable log filtered by entity, user or date, a rollback that undoes exactly one change, a sign-in history for security reviews, and retention rules that stop the whole thing from becoming the largest table in the database.
